Changing Lives Pallet Racking Case Study
When the 25+ year old charity ‘Changing Lives Together‘, embarked on optimising their ‘Reuse Warehouse’ with a local racking specialist, we forged a partnership. Sharing their vision, we stepped beyond the confines of commerce, offering our expertise and supply at cost. This venture was more than a project; it brought together our values, as we worked to deliver a space that would benefit the community around Winsford Industrial Estate.

“I started with Changing Lives Together back in September 2022. The board of trustees wanted to reinvent and innovate the charity. We’ve invested a considerable sum of money in creating what we’re calling the ‘Reuse Warehouse’, which is going to be like a mini IKEA of pre-loved furniture.
We found AlphaStor and asked them if they could come in and do a quote. Brendan came in to see us and because he was so engaged with what we were doing as a charity, has quoted us at cost price. So we’ve had a professional installation and we’ve had the racking at a really low cost. Brendan has offered his support as we aim to roll out 4-5 of these branches across Cheshire. So it’s been incredibly useful getting him to install the product for us. It’s been done professionally and it gives us the basis to be able to build a new innovative retail solution that we want to drive.
The racking Brendan provided is giving us a massive amount of flexibility. We’re able to create the individual areas that we need to create in the blueprint of the Winsford hub.
Working with Brendan has been really useful. I’ve worked with other retailers before, so I’ve done major refit programs. But you need a partner that’s working with supplying stock that is flexible and understands the innovation that you’re trying to drive. It wasn’t conventional what we’ve done with the racking, we’ve used the racking to subdivide floorspace, and Brendan was really fantastic in his approach.
He made multiple visits before we started the project to make sure that the quote was right and then actually helped us out when we realised that we probably underestimated some of the racking and supplied some more racking and cost to us to get us to where we wanted to be. So it was a really useful partnership relationship, and we struggled with all the suppliers finding that kind of relationship. That’s why we’ll continue using Brendan in the future.”
